Shut the Exterior Door Securely When You Arrive and When You Leave. Please be sure when you come to the chapel, or when you leave, that the adoration chapel after-hours door is shut and locked after you. This is a security issue. For the safety of everyone, please be sure whichever door you use after-hours is shut and locked when you enter and when you leave. Thank you.
This is really important! - Check In When You Arrive, & Check Out When You Leave: Do not forget to check-in at the iPad in the back corner when you begin your hour, and check-out before you leave. You will see a button with your initials below the scheduled hour. When you do not check-in, we do not know for sure if an adorer was always present with Our Lord.
Use the OFFICIAL ADORER FOR THE HOUR Cloth if you are the Scheduled Adorer for that hour: Do not forget to place the Official Adorer for the Hour cloth on the back of the pew you sit in so that other adorers know the official adorer for that hour is there. This allows them to leave being assured that someone will be there for the next full hour. Please hang the cloth on the rack behind one of the doors when you finish your adoration hour (Here is a link to a picture of the Adorer Cloths on the rack behind each door to the Adoration Chapel).
Unable To Attend & Need a Substitute? Request a substitute by texting the word SUB to our automated system at (704) 412-4309. You can also login to your account and make substitute requests. (Please plan ahead with holidays like Christmas, Easter, vacation, etc.)
Forgot the Door Code? This info was sent to you when you signed up for an account. Send a message to the adoration system thru your account. We will respond back with the code. An easy way to never lose the code is simply to send a text message to yourself with the code in it. Remember that this code is necessary daily from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and as well during times such as Christmas & Easter when the main church doors are not open on the same schedule. As well, for the safety of all, please do not give this code out to others. Encourage people to register for an adoration account.
Arrive 5 Minutes Early: Please make it a practice to arrive at least 5 minutes early for your scheduled hour. Keep in mind that the adorers for the previous hour must wait for you to arrive at the chapel before they can leave.
Proper Dress & Behavior: Please keep proper dress and behavior in mind. This is not a place to come dressed for a workout, If you are coming from the gym or on the way, and are just stopping in to see Our Lord, this is wonderful, but please keep appropriate clothing in your car for such occasions. Please bear in mind that Eucharistic Adoration, like Holy Mass, is a solemn visit with the King and God of the Universe. It is not like other places we visit, or events that we participate in.
We Need More Adorers: Please take a look at our most urgent needs to fill. Father Codd is asking for at least three scheduled adorers for each hour. If you cannot commit to a regular hour, register for an account, and choose to be a substitute. Prayerfully consider signing up and/or adding an additional weekly commitment, and encouraging other parishioners you know to do so.
